What is the purpose of the Assigned Contractor and Employee field in the Schedule Task?

< All Topics

The Gantt chart provided within Contractor Foreman is a great way for you to schedule tasks based on resource availability.  When adding a Task to a Schedule, you will have the option to designate an Assigned Contractor and and Employee.

Assigned Contractor: This is the person that is doing the work.  It can be anyone from within your Contractor Foreman directory, including; Contractors, Vendors, Customers, etc.

Employee: This is the team member that is overseeing the task or that needs to be associated with the tasks.  Examples of how this may be used are:

  •  A plumbing inspection is scheduled for next Wednesday. The Assigned Contractor would be the plumber and the Employee would be either the Superintendent/ Project Manager so both parties (the sub and the PM) show up to meet the county official.
  • An invoice needs to be created on the 25th of the month. Assigned Contractor might be the Accounting Staff member and the Employee would be the PM for approval.
  • Roof shingles are being delivered on Monday. Sub is Assigned Contractor so they can begin installation and coordinate with the supply house where they want the shingles placed. The Employee might be the Superintendent so he can coordinate with the delivery vehicle and driver on the ground.
